A) ​Event’s registration

A.1)​ How to register in the event

A.1.1) ​From 00:00 on May 1st, the link to the registration form will be available on the social networks of the event, Facebook and Instagram, where athletes must fill in:

  • - Full name
  • - Birth Date
  • - Phone
  • - Box / Gym
  • - T-shirt size
  • - Desired division
  • - In case athletes want an invoice, they should provide their VAT number by email.

A.1.2) ​If the athlete has a vacancy within the required division, the athlete will receive an email to confirm his attendance as well as the bank information for payment. If the athlete does not have a place in the desired division, he or she will be informed and will enter the waiting list. Should any athlete give up, they will receive an email in order to proceed to point A.1.3.

A.1.3) The athlete should reply to the previous email within 48 hours with proof of payment. Otherwise the registration becomes invalid.

A.2)​ Cost of the ​Registration

Registration for the competition will cost 30 EUR. This amount shall be paid using the method presented in the email referred to in point A.1.2. Under no circumstances will the athlete be entitled to a refund.

A.3)​ ​Athlete's rights

Included in the price of the registration is:

A.3.1) Participating in the 3 day event, without any qualifier as well as all supporting instractructures surrounding the event.

A.3.2)​ A T-shirt from the event with the size specified in the registration.

A.3.3)​ Personal insurance during the competition portion of the event.

* ​In case of withdrawal or failure to send proof of payment, within the established deadline, the registration fee will not be refunded and the athlete loses the right to the event's t-shirt and insurance as well as participation in it.

A.4)​ ​Golden Tickets

The organizers have the right to offer “Golden Ticket”, per division, to whom they may see fit. The Golden Ticket serves as a replacement for the 30 EUR ticket payment. The winners of such ticket still need to go through the whole registration process.

B)​ ​Divisions

Both male and female divisions are individual and are divided as follows:

  • RX – 32 Male / 24 Female openings Intermediate – 24 openings
  • Scaled – 24 openings
  • Master 35-39 – 16 openings
  • Master +40 – 16 openings

B.1)​ ​Description of the Divisions

Male and Female RX - This category will have high difficulty level challenges. Any athlete aged 18 years or over can enter this category. If the athlete has not reached the age of 18 by 1 November 2019, he must be accompanied by a written authorization from the person in charge of education and accompanied by him and both citizens' cards. Failure to comply with these requirements will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Intermediate Male and Female - ​Throughout the event, the challenges will be adapted to this category to be easier than the "RX" level. Any athlete aged 18 years or over can enter this category. If the athlete has not reached the age of 18 by 1 November 2019, he must be accompanied by a written authorization from the person in charge of education and accompanied by him and both citizens' cards. Failure to comply with these requirements will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Scaled Male and Female - ​Throughout the event, the challenges will be adapted to this category to be easier than the "Intermediate" level. Any athlete aged 18 years or over can enter this category. If the athlete has not reached the age of 18 by 1 November 2019, he must be accompanied by a written authorization from the person in charge of education and accompanied by him and both citizens' cards. Failure to comply with these requirements will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Master 35-39 Male - ​This category will have difficulty level challenges equal to "RX". Any athlete who is 35 years of age and up to and including 39 years of age can enter this category. The athlete must meet this requirement on November 1, 2019. Failure to comply will automatically be disqualified from the event. Master 35-39 Female - ​This category will have difficulty level challenges equal to the "Intermediate". Any athlete who is 35 years of age and up to and including 39 years of age can enter this category. The athlete must meet this requirement on November 1, 2019. Failure to comply will automatically be disqualified from the event.

Master +40 Male and Female - ​This category will have difficulty level challenges equal to the "Intermediate". Any athlete who is 40 years of age or older can enter this category. The athlete must meet this requirement on November 1, 2019. Failure to comply will automatically be disqualified from the event.

C)​ ​Equipment

The athlete should have his own equipment for tasks such as running, jumping rope and carrying objects. Any type of equipment that aims at greater propulsion of the athlete, or a greater capacity of grip to the loaded objects should be evaluated by the organization being possible to be prohibited its use.

If we have a swimming competition, the athlete will be informed within a maximum period of 15 days before the start of the event. The athlete may wear thermal wetsuit, swimming goggles and cap. Fins, duck feet or any accessory that helps propulsion and / or buoyancy will not be allowed.

D)​ Performing the ​“WODs” challenges

D.1) ​Challenges ​Briefing

All athletes are requested to appear at times designated as a briefing. These will be conducted before the challenges and will aim to explain / demonstrate all the details about the proposed challenges. This includes movement patterns, challenge structure and necessary and permissible material. At this time, athletes have the right to ask any questions they have about the challenges they are facing.

D.2)​ ​Challenge’s beginning

At the start of each challenge, the athletes will be called to the warm-up zone to move to the test location. If they fail the call, they will be ranked last in this challenge, and can not start their service after the start of the respective heat.

D.3)​ ​Judges

Each athlete will be entitled to at least one judge who will be responsible for counting repetitions as well as analyzing the intended movement patterns. In the case of invalid repetition "NO REP", the athlete can do nothing but follow the achievement of the challenge, respecting the decision of the judge.

D.4)​ ​Ending of the challenge

At the end of each challenge the athlete will have to sign the results sheet. If the athlete does not agree with the result, he or she will not sign the sheet and must go, with the respective judge, to the organization of the event. From the moment the sheet is signed, there is no possibility of protest. If the athlete decides not to sign the sheet, it is up to the event organization to decide the result.

D.5)​ ​Heats and classification

D.5.1)​ ​Heats

On the first day, the heats will be according to the athletes registration. The first athletes to register will be entitled to the challenges in the last heats. And in reverse, the last athletes enrolled in the event will be the first to meet the challenges.

On the second day, the heats will be according to the classification. Being that the best ranked athletes will meet the challenges last.

On the third day, the heats will again be adjusted and performed according to the classification.

D.5.2)​ ​Classification

According to the performance in each challenge to the athletes will be awarded a score according to the table below. In the left column is the place that the athlete reached in the challenge and in the column of the right the respective points that the athlete obtains:

The athlete with the highest number of points will always be better classified.

E)​ ​Rewards

This being the first edition of Albufeira Throwdown, it is not possible to guarantee any type of prize. This is because we do not know what kind of membership we will have in terms of athletes and sponsors when writing this regulation. We appreciate your understanding and, as soon as possible, we will publish the list of prizes on our social networks.

F)​ ​Athlete Behavior

The athlete has the duty to:

- Respect judges, members of the organization, colleagues of competition and any person and / or animal that is in the zone of the event.

- Meet the rules of each challenge with regard to the use of appropriate material. - Meet the standards of movement and attend on time at all times of the event.

Failure to perform any of the above points may lead to penalty, disqualification and / or expulsion of the athlete of the event and the venue.
